2 screen continuous projection | colour | dimensions variable

‘Between here + there', was initiated for the Generator project, "FAAR", a series of public artworks around the city of Dundee utilising light and projection and was subsequently also commissioned by Wolverhampton Metropolitan Borough Council as part of the, 'Out of Darkness', project.

The work took the form of 2 simultaneous video projections onto 2 screens within the windows of a building within the city centre. The 2 windows are the same size and aligned one above the other on adjacent storeys of the building. The original configuration developed for Dundee, which is shown in the documentation here, used the first and second floors of a space above H Samuel, the jeweller, on the corner of Reform St and High St. When the work was reconfigured for Wolverhampton it was shown in the Chubb Building on Fryer St. What we see, or appear to see, from the exterior, is a man (the artist) traversing between two interior spaces. The figure jumps continuously between one storey and the one above. There is a immediate contradiction between the expected or assumed space of the architecture and the apparent space portrayed in the video projections.
